Juniors and seniors at UA have a unique opportunity to serve as
long-term mentors and role models through our Big Sisters program. We
volunteer at St. Boniface and at Corryville Catholic schools with
girls in grades 3-6. High School mentors make a year long commitment
to their little sister which includes participating together in weekly
sessions during the school year and letter writing the following
summer. This service experience has been truly rewarding for Big and
Little sister alike.
Weekly sessions take place on Thursday afternoons at our partner
schools. During these one hour sessions, Big sisters tutor their
little sisters, play games, and share a healthy snack. Big and little
sisters also come together for fun weekend activities three to four times
a year.
