Ursuline events for Thu Mar 11, 2010
Relay for Life Forms Due, March 24
Relay
for Life Forms Due, March 24
Ursuline Academy will again be participating in the Montgomery Area Relay for
Life from 4 p.m. on Friday, May 14 until 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. This
eighteen hour event raises money and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
Students form teams of 7 to 10 people who commit to having at least one team
member walking the track at Relay for the entire event. It is a fun event that
invites us to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember those we’ve lost, and to
fight back by supporting the research, advocacy and cancer support services
provided by the American Cancer Society.
Many Relay deadlines are fast approaching.
- By March 15, all students who are participating must be registered online
at www.relayforlife.org/montgomeryoh.
- By March 24, all permission
forms and adult chaperone
forms must be turned in to the community service office. All team captains
should have received these forms in homeroom this week. If students have not
received these UA forms, they should stop by the community service
office.
- By March 24, all students need to turn in $10 towards their fundraising
goal, either through an online donation, or through their team captain to the
community service office.
All teams that complete these tasks on time will receive a portion of the
money raised from the Father Daughter Dance ribbon sale. Currently, we are
forming a UA teacher team for Relay. We would also like to form at least one UA
parent team. For that to happen, we are in need of two parents to co-captain a
team. Cocaptains recruit team members, encourage fundraising efforts and
communicate information about Relay to all team participants. If you would like
to co-captain a UA parent team, please contact Ruthie Hurley at 791-5791, ext.
2225, or e-mail her at rhurley@ursulineacademy.org.
Finally, anyone can learn more about relay by visiting www.relayforlife.org.
